Cell Phone
Discount
|
The Federal Telecommunications Act of 1996 provides for a discount to federal
employees past and present. It provides discounts for all federal employees on
there cell phone bills; Cingular 19%, Verizon 15%, T-mobile 22% and those are
just the ones that I know.
You have to call your provider and request this discount to receive just by
mentioning the Federal Telecommunications act of 1996 discount for federal
employees past and present. You may get the run around a little bit but stick
with it.
For those of you with Cingular, just call 1-800-319-6393 (Cingular Business
accounts) and mention the Federal Telecommunications act of 1996 discount for
federal employees past and present and you will need this account number for the
Navy 32437 but they can also look up the other branches.
For Verizon, call 1-866-456-7892 and select option #1. You'll need a fax number
handy to receive the form or you can go to the union office to pick one up.
Discount varies by branch of service or other government employment - is 17% for
USMC. Once the cell phone company gets verification, your discount will be
effective on current billing cycle |
