Election of the Local 12 Executive board occurs every two years. All
Executive Officers and Code Vice Presidents are elected during this time.
Each Department, (i.e., Code 120, Code 200, Code 2300, etc.) is entitled to one
vice president. Unfortunately sometimes no one from a particular code is
nominated. If no one is nominated for a Code VP position and no one's name
is written in on the ballot, the e-board is required to fill that position.
When this happens, the person selected may not be from the code represented.
It is always better for the employees to have a representative from their code.
The only requirement needed to nominate a person is being a dues paying member.
To run for a position you have to have been a dues paying members for al least
six month prior to September 3, 2009 when the nominations were opened.
Nominations close on September 30, 2009. If you are interested in
nominating someone, click the officer nomination form to fill
it out and submit it to Local 12. Instructions for submitting the form are
on the nomination form.
