We are a local affiliate of IFPTE, along with all other Navy Shipyards in the United States. Working together with other federal IFPTE local affiliates, we are able to network, learn, and advocate together on important issues.

About IFPTE
The International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers (IFPTE) is an nonprofit, umbrella employee based organization, made up of autonomous local affiliates. IFPTE advocates on behalf of more than 80,000 women and men in professional and technical occupations in the United States and Canada. Their members are employed within the private, public, and federal sector.
IFPTE balances the broad range of their members’ interests by adhering to democratic processes and consensus
decision-making. Unique in representing highly educated and skilled women and men, IFPTE combines the strength of collective bargaining with the autonomy and specialization of a professional association.
With IFPTE, the focus is on the issues, not ideology or partisan politics, when it comes to federal or state legislation. IFPTE has a long history working on both sides of the aisle to ensure our members’ interest are being heard and are successful.
